Welcome to our web site!

This year you will have me, Ms. McKeown, as your math teacher and Junior High girls' basketball coach!  By the end of the year I hope everyone can find joy from some part of math!

Good luck in everything you do!

Grading Scale

Extra Credit
Every week I will have a word problem that the students can attempt for extra credit.  Many times I get the word problems from the following website:
There may be other opportunities for extra credit, but the student will need to speak with me.

Late Work Policy
All assignments are due at the beginning of the class.  *Late assignments will be accepted until one week before the end of the quarter for 20% off. Each late assignment will result in a phone call to the parents/guardians. After the third late assignment per class the students will be given an afterschool detention. (*school-wide policy)

Absentee Policy
The Western Junior High School absentee policy applies.  For 1 day absent you have 2 school days to make up material.  1 day will be added for continuous days absent. Example:
1 day absent - 2 days to make up work.
2 days absent - 3 days to make up work.
3 days absent - 4 days to make up work.

2009/2010 Parent Letter
All students should bring home a parent letter on the first day of school.  This should be signed and returned to me as soon as possible.  This will contain my different policies and rules for the classroom.

Junior High Girls' Basketball Contract
I am a strong believer in good sportsmanship; therefore, I have made a small contract I would like players and parents/guardians to look over and sign.
Remember: "Attitude is as important as ability!"
